Kyiv Aviation Institute was founded in 1933. It is one of the most respectable, oldest engineering universities of Ukraine recognized all over the world.For almost 80 years of its history more than 200,000 highly skilled professionals has been trained in this higher aviation educational institution. Among them there are well-known scientists, heads of aviation companies, enterprises, organizations and institutions that provide aircraft flights, their maintenance and repair, transportation of passengers and cargo.

Unique devices, control systems of aircraft and space-rocket equipment, advanced technologies, and as a result, high scientific and pedagogical potential of this higher educational establishment have been created at the university.

Today, National Aviation Institute is the largest aviation university in Ukraine and one of the world's most powerful aviation higher educational institutions with more than 50,000 students including 1,200 international students from 49 countries.The University is proud to have 80 honored academicians of science and technology as lecturers and teachers at the university.The University consists of 15 institutes, 7 colleges, 2 high schools, Center for Air and Space Law, and European regional centers of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The University is located on the territory of 72 hectares; the total area of the buildings is 140,000 m2. The training process involves 75 aircrafts and helicopters, 42 aviation engines, 3 complex flight simulators, 240 board systems, modelling stands and over 6,000 modern computers.

The scientific and technical library amounts more than 2.6 million issues. The University has the world's only educational hangar, training airfield, training radio ground with aviation ground equipment, aerodynamic and training complexes.The campus of the university includes 11 dormitories, a dining hall with 1000 seats, an Internet cafe, students café "Bistro", a medical center, equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, a dispensary, Center for Art and Culture with the hall for 1500 seats, Center for Sport and Health, where sport teams and different winners of competitions are trained in many sports. Employees and students of our university are keen sportsmen at yachting (there is a yacht club at university) and aerospace-design and hang-gliding.The University surely goes ahead. Progressive trends of modern education are fully implemented in training. Experienced faculty, advanced educational facilities as well as modern informational technologies contribute to the effectiveness of study and formation of future specialists’ personality.

The University successfully cooperates with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). ICAO European Sub-regional Training Centers havebeen inaugurated in the framework of the University. Centers implement the Train-air Methodology based on ICAO Standards and Recommended practices.

Foreigners, who do not speak the language of education, are credited to the Preparatory Faculty. Duration of training is 1 year.Foreigners also have the opportunity to enter Postgraduate course if they successfully complete their major program and demonstrate capacity for scientific and research activities. Duration of PG course is 3 years. Medium of PG course is Ukrainian or Russian.Institute of PG studies offers a wide range of specializations, through training in which foreign nationals can enhance their professional knowledge and skills and gain additional diplomas and certificates.
